Once you’ve located Xur, here’s a recap of everything he’s carrying alongside the possible perk rolls for each piece of gear.
Vigilance Wing [Primary Pulse Rifle - 29 Legendary Shards]: This Pulse Rifle is best defined by its Harsh Truth perk, which includes a five-round burst. When a nearby ally is killed, you gain health regeneration and movement speed. This makes the gun especially helpful in Crucible. Updated recoil stats make Vigilance Wing slightly less potent since Forsaken, but it still shreds in PvP. Aeon Safe - Titan Gauntlets [23 Legendary Shards] : The hard truth about Aeon Safe is that it’s probably one of the worst Exotics in all of Destiny 2. It offers specific energy boosts depending on your class, but those boosts only activate if that player is also wearing Aeon Cult gear. In other words, these gloves are pointless unless everyone else on your team is wearing them too. Auto Rifle Loader - Scout Rifle Loader - Submachine Gun LoaderGrenade Launcher Scavenger - Special Ammo FinderOphidia Spathe - Hunter Chest Armor [23 Legendary Shards]: If you love Throwing Knives, the Spathe is on point. Its Scissor Fingers Perk grants two knives in a single charge, which makes it a perfect pair with Way of a Thousand Cuts or Gambler’s Dodge. You never have to stop throwing once these are equipped. Unflinching Linear Fusion Aim - Unflinching Power Aim - Unflinching Light Arms AimAuto Rifle Reserves - Primary Ammo FinderChromatic Fire [Warlock Chest Armor - 23 Legendary Shards]: This armor has the Crystalline Transistor perk, which creates an explosion after precision kills with a Kinetic weapon. Paired with Blast Furnace, Ace or Breakneck, this is an amazing Exotic for AoE effects in PvP or PvE alike. It’s not going to suit everybody’s playstyle, but it might still be helpful. For Warlocks this one is a maybe. Unflinching Hand Cannon Aim - Unflinching Scout Rifle Aim - Unflinching Large ArmsSidearm Reserves - Special Ammo FinderFive of Swords: This is a Nightfall Challenge Card that can raise or lower the Power handicap to fit your needs. Raising the handicap increases your score multiplier. The World [Invitation of the Nine - Nine Legendary Shards]Complete the Lake of Shadows Strike. Collect Nine Fallen Samples. Collect Nine Cabal Samples. Collect Nine Taken Samples.
With this inventory in mind, there’s not much here that’s incredibly exciting at Xur’s for August 30. That being said, given the fairly recent Gallahorn hype, it might make sense for Legendary sales to cool off over the next few weeks. All of these items have been on offer several times over the past couple months, so don’t feel bad if you miss out on them today. Ophidia Spathe is definitely the best buy of the bunch if you’re a Hunter with Way of a Thousand Cuts, but the rest should probably spring for a Fated Engram. Pack it in, Guardians. It’s just that kind of week.
