Dishonored 2, the follow-up to the 2012 stealth-action game, has been rumored for a long time, but Bethesda has yet to confirm the game. Considering the publisher is taking the stage in a special presentation this year, it seems like a safe assumption that the company has a lot up its sleeve. Fallout 4 and Doom 4 are sure to be crowd-pleasures, but we’ve been guessing that Bethesda will use a Dishonored 2 reveal as its mic drop moment.

During a test for tomorrow’s Twitch stream, it sounds like the Arkane Studios representatives  on stage (including Creative Director Raph Colantonio and Harvey Smith) accidentally were caught on a live mic discussing their plans for the Dishonored 2 reveal. The stream has been taken down, so this is definitely not official news, but a few Twitch followers managed to capture the clip and repost it to YouTube. Have a listen below before the clip is removed…

It sounds like the Arkane team, the developers of Dishonored, are on stage discussing the reveal strategy a little too close to a hot mic during the Twitch test. The speakers never actually say Dishonored 2, but there is enough context for listeners to fill in the blanks. During the end of the clip, you can hear someone run over and explain the situation…

Assuming that the reveal is real, it is a shame that the surprise is spoiled, but this isn’t something that was going to take viewers may much of a surprise anyway. A Dishonored 2 reveal is high on just about everyone’s list of E3 predictions, so hopefully the leak just builds more hype for the sequel.

“Ha ha ha.”

“I’m not kidding.”

If Fallout 4 is far enough along to be released in 2015, as many gamers and journalists are predicting, then Bethesda could be in for a huge late 2015 and early 2016. With three major sequels in the works to iconic franchises, the publisher could have a major role in defining this console generation’s third year. As developers begin to finally take advantage of the power that is available in the PS4 and Xbox One, it will be very exciting to see what franchises like Fallout, Doom, and Dishonored look like with a current-gen facelift.

Dishonored 2 has not officially been announced yet. Check by all week for more E3 2015 coverage.
